BANGKOK HOSPITAL AND VEJDUSIT FOUNDATION SUPPORTS SUKHOTHAI HOSPITAL Bangkok Hospital, in partnership with Vejdusit Foundation Under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana, has extended medical expertise to Sukhothai Hospital with the focus on laparoscopic total extraperitoneal hernia repair (TEP). As part of their commitment to social responsibility under the SWAT Project: 3C (Charity-Cure-Care), the hospital reached out to Sukhothai Hospital, which is a government facility facing high patient demand. This BHQ MSO Charity initiative aims to provide health support for underprivileged patients while enhancing the surgical skills of doctors in laparoscopic TEP. Led by Professor Dr. Suthep Udomsawaengsup and Dr. Chanin Pundee, both laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeons, the initiative included seminars for medical professionals on pre- and post-surgery patient care standards. Currently offering pre-authorisation services up to 48 hours in advance, the hospital aims to further streamline the process by providing enhanced coverage checks against treatment plans within two workdays including surgeries and high-cost treatments. This comprehensive solution does not only ensure transparency in medical expenses but also offers post-discharge services including access to medical records, online consultations and home delivery of medicines. BDMS SOCIAL NEWS Event update SAMITIVEJ BREAKS GROUND WITH AGE FRIENDLY RUN FOR PARTICIPANTS 50+ The Age Friendly Run by Samitivej 2024 marked a pioneering event that emphasised Samitivej's commitment to preventing illness and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The run, held at Nong Bon Lake Park in Bangkok in January, witnessed the active participation of individuals aged 50 and above who ran alongside doctors and nurses. The event featured fit & firm activity stations along the route, and participant safety was prioritised with the deployment of automated external defibrillators and ambulances.
