< Previous/ ISSUE_47 30 BDMS SOCIAL NEWS Event update SAMITIVEJ SRINAKARIN HOSPITAL AND TOYOTA THAILAND TO PROVIDE SMART MOBILITY SERVICES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital and Toyota Thailand have joined forces to launch Service Smart Mobility for senior citizens. This service offers senior patients convenient transportation to and from the hospital with adjustable mobility seats and a GPS car-tracking service that will connect them directly to a physician in the case of an emergency. With the help of Service Smart Mobility for Senior, seniors will benefit from increased mobility with safety. BASEM PROVIDES SPORTS MEDICINE CARE FOR TEAM OF 17 YOUNG FOOTBALLERS AHEAD OF THEIR TRAINING IN GERMANY Bangkok Academy of Sports and Exercise Medicine (BASEM) provides sports medicine care for athletes of all ages and lifestyles. Recently, BASEM welcomed the team of 17 young footballers from BDMS Presents Bundesliga Dream to receive professional care from well-trained, experienced sports medicine physicians and a multidisciplinary team to ensure their physical fitness and readiness before flying to Germany to train with a leading football club. In addition to the care provided, the team also received invaluable knowledge about Football Medicine from Dr. Paisal Chantarapitak, Director of the FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, BDMS and Advisor to Hospital Director – Special Affairs, Bangkok Hospital. The team's medical assessment included Fit for Performance Tests such as a Balance Test, Sit and Reach Test, Submaximal VO 2 Max Test, Isokinetic Test, and InBody Test. The results were used to determine individual cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength and body flexibility, as well as for planning training programs, sports nutrition, performance psychology, weight control, and athletic performance improvement whilst minimising the risk of sports injuries. Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital in Asia certified by the US-based Geriatrics Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA), and it specialises in providing emergency care to senior patients. The hospital provides 24-hour service with specialist doctors and nurses, as well as full medical equipment.
